To begin, one of the doctors will perform a visual exam of your jaws, mouth, and teeth. They will assess your orthodontic health and the aesthetics of your smile. This is the first step in developing your treatment plan.
Our Irvine team will use 3D CBCT x-rays to create a virtual model of your jaw and teeth. This lets us look below the surface, and check for hidden orthodontic problems and oral health issues. We will also use our advanced iTero 3D scanner to scan the inside of your mouth and build a 3D model which we can use to assess bite issues and even create a virtual simulation of your anticipated tooth movements!
After your exam is complete, the doctors will discuss your preferences, and eligibility for different orthodontic treatments. Together, you’ll come up with an orthodontic treatment plan that’s perfect for your needs.

There’s no need to use dental insurance for a free consultation at Salt & Light Orthodontics. Our consultations are free regardless of your insurance coverage status.
However, if you do have a PPO plan that covers orthodontics, it’s likely that it will cover at least part of your treatment. We recommend checking with your insurer to learn more and to find out if you have orthodontic coverage.
Free consultations are always available for new patients at our office, regardless of your insurance status. As long as your mouth is free of major oral health problems, you qualify for a free consultation.
